Monochromatic Images

Monochromatic is the correct description for what most people refer to as black and white photography. They are not just black and white images for there is a whole range of grays that falls between pure black and pure white. But it must also be kept in mind that a monochromatic image is not limited to grayscale - it can be any color.

Most of my work is grayscale monochromatic. In a sense it is an abstract art. We see in color and most media that we see today is in color. For me I often feel that the colors can distract from what I am trying to capture in my images. Though it's one's own personal tastes I feel that grayscale monochromatic images add drama and impact to a picture by stripping away the color that we are attuned to seeing in the subject.

Open Edition Monochromatic Prints: Available in sizes 5”x7” or 8”x10”, they come matted ready for framing. Please note that print size refers to the size of the paper the photograph is printed on. The exact image size will vary, depending upon the dimensions and cropping of the particular image in question, and in order to leave a border around the image area.
